Frequently Asked Questions
Dentistry is a big subject, and it’s very understandable that some of our patients have questions or concerns regarding what to expect from certain treatment options. For added convenience, our team has compiled some of the “FAQ’s” we hear most frequently in one location, along with their answers! If you don’t see the information you’re looking for on this page, that’s not a problem either – just contact us directly at Washington Dental Associates to discuss the matter.
How often should my family have a checkup?
For optimal health, we recommend visiting Dr. LaCap or Dr. Tong twice a year for routine cleanings and exams. Regular visits will help us catch the most common oral health problems before they have a chance to become more developed. At Washington Dental Associates, we’re committed to diagnosing and treating any oral health problems as soon as possible to help you preserve your good oral health.
Do you offer cosmetic braces?
We offer two types of cosmetic braces: Invisalign and Six-Month Smiles. Each one is a little different, but they can both create beautiful results that will also improve oral health and wellbeing. During a special consultation with Dr. LaCap or Dr. Tong, we can help you understand which service is most right for you. We can also talk to you about treatment with traditional braces!
What is periodontal therapy?
Periodontal therapy is a service that helps patients treat or manage gum disease and its symptoms. Because gum disease can have such a dramatic effect on your oral and overall health, seeking care for this all-too-common problem is very important. During your next visit, we’ll look for signs of gum disease and recommend a treatment if necessary.
Do you offer dental implants?
Yes, we do! We offer full-service care for implants. That means you can have your entire procedure completed under one roof. Not every patient is a good candidate for implant therapy, though. If you have questions about implants, let Dr. LaCap or Dr. Tong assess your needs and discuss your treatment options with you.
Is sedation dentistry safe?
With Dr. Mendia’s extensive experience and training, the sedation we can provide is absolutely safe. While you’re with us, we’ll keep a close eye on your breathing and your vital signs. Have you put off important care because of anxiety or fear? Let us talk to you about the benefits of sedation dentistry.
Call Washington Dental Associates with any other questions you might have. We would also be happy to schedule an appointment for you.
