Meet Radhika Shah, DDS
Dr. Shah is super excited to be a part of the Washington Dental Associates team! She understands that dentistry can cause a lot of anxiety among people and always strives to make her patients feel completely comfortable during their appointments. She and the rest of our dentists share a compassionate nature as well as a tireless dedication to create healthy smiles for patients of all ages. She looks forward to making our practice your family’s one and only dental home.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Shah knew from an early age that she wanted to become a medical professional. After shadowing several different medical careers, she chose dentistry because she knew that it was right for her. Of the many medical fields she observed, she felt that the dental profession gave her the opportunity to truly make a difference in people’s lives on a daily basis.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After graduating from UCLA with a B.S. in Psychobiology, Dr. Shah moved to New York to attend the NYU College of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She went on to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at the University of California. To this day, she regularly attends continuing education classes in order to learn how to better serve her patients.
Life Outside of the Office
On a given weekend at home, you’ll likely find Dr. Shah experimenting in the kitchen, reading, or PINTERESTING! She also loves to travel and learn about different cultures.
In order to help even more people, Dr. Shah participated in a week long outreach trip to Santo Domingo, The Dominican Republic, where she and other dentists provided free dental care to an underserved school. The opportunity to make even a small difference in some of the children’s lives was a very exciting and gratifying experience for her.
