Darren Tong, DDS

Dr. Darren Tong completed his Aesthetic Advantage Certification at New York University. He received his D.D.S. degree from Columbia University School of Dental & Oral Surgery, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class. He has received advanced training in Dental Implants, Cosmetic Dentistry, Pediatric Dentistry, Orthodontics, Gum Disease, Endodontics, Patient Management, Full Mouth Reconstruction, and Occlusion.

Mariliza Lacap, DDS

Dr. Mariliza Lacap completed her Aesthetic Advantage Certification at New York University. She received her D.D.S. degree from Columbia University School of Dental & Oral Surgery, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class. She completed her residency at Englewood Hospital. She has received advanced training in Dental implants, Cosmetic Dentistry, Orthodontics, Full-Face Orthodontics, Invisalign™, Endodontics, Gum Disease, Patient Management, and Restoration.

Bergenfield’s only husband and wife dental team with their four sons and daughter.

Dr. Tong and Dr. LaCap first met in dental school at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. In fact they were anatomy lab partners. Was it love at first sight? You’ll have to ask them.

After 16 years of working together as dentists, they still share the same passion for creating beautiful and healthy smiles. Their shared vision for Washington Dental Associates has materialized into an exceptional dental experience for their patients. Washington Dental Associates is a unique dental office where you will feel comfortable, well taken care of and safe.

Another passion they share together is their passion for each other and their four sons. Their weekends are spent watching their sons’ soccer or baseball games - they have never missed one yet. When they are not in the office working you can find them on the slopes skiing or on the Hudson River boating.

Laarni Villajuan, Client Care Coordinator and Office Manager

Laarni has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition. She has a calmness about her that will make you feel comfortable, welcomed and unhurried. Laarni will be the first voice you hear when you call our Bergenfield dental office and the first person to welcome you into our office.

When she is not in the office helping all who enter, she can be found in the malls looking for that perfect outfit or spending time with her nieces and nephew.

When you meet Laarni, you will realize that the smile she has on her face means she’s genuinely happy to see you. She will help you maximize your insurance, work with your budget and help you find a convenient appointment time. Laarni is also the one responsible for the home baked cookies. -Laarni does it all.

Joanne Pascual, Registered Dental Assistant

If Joanne seems more knowledgeable than the average dental assistant, it’s because she is. Joanne was a dentist in the Philippines and has a dental degree from Centro Escolar University. She is more than qualified to assist Dr. Tong in the most comprehensive and complex dentistry he performs.

When Joanne is not in the office assisting Dr. Tong in his quest for giving every patient that perfect smile, Joanne keeps busy with her husband, Sam, their daughter Samantha and their son Jacob.

Joanne has a way of making our patients comfortable and relaxed during treatment - almost as if they were in their own living room watching TV.

Lindsay Calderon, Registered Dental Hygienist

Lindsay is very familiar with our dental office. She has been a patient with us for over fifteen years. She was also Dr. Lacap’s part-time dental assistant for two years. Now she is sitting on the other side of the dental chair as one of our caring hygienist.

Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University. She brings with her the experience of knowing how to utilize and incorporate the latest oral care techniques and technology for our hygiene department.

Her friendly and caring personality will make you feel right at home. She is very gentle and thorough. Being a great educator she utilizes many visual aids like the intra-oral camera.

When Lindsay is not in our office "eradicating" gum disease and brightening our patent’s smiles, she can be found biking and running in the summer and snowboarding in the winter.

Diane Korn, Registered Dental Hygienist

Diane holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in human development from the Cornell University. She has been a dental hygienist for 25 years. Her bubbly and caring personality will make you feel right at home. She is very gentle and thoughtful. Diane is most famous for her trademark “Gum Massages” - an added service our patients always look forward to.

Her passion for dentistry can only be equaled by her passion for her family and husband. Especially her husband, Gary. When she is not on her mission to eradicate gum disease and brighten our patients’ smiles, she can be found in the ocean scuba diving and traveling the world with her family.

We think Diane is just “Delicious”.
